Method
Profile, map, build, rehearse, cut over, reconcile
The same six steps on every migration, each ending in something you can read and sign. Integrations and platform work follow the same discipline with fewer steps.
Step 1: Profile
Read-only access to every source. Each table counted, keyed and checked for orphans, duplicates and values that don't fit their column.
We ask for read-only access or a restored backup. Never write access to a live source.
You getProfiling report
Step 2: Map
Field by field, source to target, with every transformation, lookup and default written down in plain language.
You getMapping specification, signed off by you
Step 3: Build
Extraction and transformation code, with the validation rules alongside it, run inside your environment wherever possible.
You getRepeatable migration code
Step 4: Rehearse
Full dry runs into a test copy of the target. Each one timed, reconciled and reviewed with your team.
Rehearsals repeat until a full cycle reconciles cleanly and the timing is stable. That timing becomes the freeze window.
You getRehearsal reports and a measured cutover window
Step 5: Cut over
Freeze, final extract, load and checks, then a go or no-go call made against criteria agreed in advance.
The runbook names every step, its owner and its expected duration, and where the go or no-go decision sits.
You getExecuted cutover runbook
Step 6: Reconcile
Counts, totals and record-level spot checks, source against target, for every object. Anything not moved is listed with the reason.
You getSign-off sheet
Downtime, honestly
Every cutover has some downtime: the source has to stop changing while the final extract runs. We size that freeze window from rehearsal timings, plan it with you, and shorten it with delta loads where the systems allow. You get the real number before you pick a date.
Access and security
- An NDA in place before any data moves.
- Read-only access to sources, scoped to what the work needs.
- Work done inside your environment wherever possible, so the data stays there.
- Credentials exchanged through a channel you are comfortable with, never plain email.
- Working copies deleted at the end, confirmed in writing.
Rollback
Every runbook has a rollback path agreed before the day. If a check fails at the go or no-go point, the source system stays the system of record and we go again on another date.
Describe your systems
Tell us what you are moving from and to, and how the data can be reached. No data or credentials at this stage: a description is enough.
